Unsound Festival

Unsound digs into the depths of today's music world, uncovering emerging and experimental sounds that don't abide by typical genre boundaries. It has built a reputation as an influencer for discovering creative scenes and cutting-edge noise.

In 2003, Unsound Festival Kraków was established and immediately faced resistance due to the 'weird' music it showcased, ultimately leading to performers being ousted from the club. Since then, however, Unsound has grown tremendously in Kraków and expanded beyond to New York City, Adelaide, Toronto, and London, with annual events held at each location. Additionally, between 2016 and  2018, they also produced festivals throughout Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Caucasus, furthering their commitment to working closely with curators and artists.

Not only does Unsound provide a platform for budding artists to shine, but they also commission fresh performances and advocate transborder collaborations. They have made it their mission to manipulate neglected spaces into live music spots and clubs while managing inventive musicians. Furthermore, Unsound commissions and releases new tunes as well as books; it is truly an all-encompassing enterprise that has something for everyone involved with music.
