The Open Air Hamm Festival is made possible by the Jugendhaus Altrhein e.V., a nonprofit organization established in 1975. The founders come from all corners of the country and have put their hearts into this project! During the festival weekend, nearly 45 members are actively participating in making the event happen—and it doesn't end there!
The essential groundwork for a successful festival starts as soon as December of the preceding year. This includes everything from booking meetings with other festivals, obtaining permits, and sourcing technical equipment. Then, between late December and April, the team begins curating their music and children's programming line-up; this often involves visiting concerts, listening to demos, and negotiating contracts with artists. Finding an impressive and much-loved band to headline the event each day can be a tricky task, so it's essential to also provide other acts of different genres for interest and excitement. This ensures attendees have plenty of options when choosing which bands they wish to see on the day.
Experience the Open Air Hamm 2023 Festival, a two-day extravaganza of musical entertainment from regional and national bands to DJs. In addition to music, there is also an exciting assortment of activities, including a kid's program, a chill-out tent, and night events! With plenty of stands offering delicious food options around the main square, you won't have any trouble staying fed or hydrated throughout your stay. Mark July 7th and 8th in your calendar for this year's edition!
