folkBALTICA Festival

Every year during the springtime, folkBALTICA showcases an incredible lineup of folk music artists from around the Baltic Sea area and beyond in beautiful venues like churches, theaters, schools, and manors. Furthermore, an array of exhibitions and workshops provide great accompaniment for visitors seeking full cultural immersion during their experience at folkBALTICA.

Embarking on a journey of Courage & Hope, folkBALTICA invites you to experience music together as they take this exciting leap. With the 19th edition titled "Courage & Hope," join the crowds from May 6th-14th, 2023, for an incomparable and unforgettable program!

The German-Danish event is now an integral part of the festival scene in the border region. folkBALTICA inspires its visitors with folk, jazz, and world music performed by international artists. They also have the folkBALTICA Ensemble, a youth ensemble for musical talents from both sides of the Danish-German border. The aim is to actively foster the growth of skill in Southern Denmark and Schleswig-Holstein, to continue traditional music in the region, and to contribute to intercultural youth work in the area.
