Every year, the first week of August sees Wales host the National Eisteddfod. This year, it takes place from August 5 to August 12. It is an annual celebration that lasts for eight days. The "Maes," or locations where activities are held, alternate between north and south Wales each year, drawing huge crowds and hosting hundreds of booths and stalls.
The Eisteddfod serves as a showcase for various artistic disciplines, including music, dance, literature, visual arts, and creative performances. This open and friendly event celebrates all facets of Welsh art and culture and draws thousands of non-native speakers, Welsh learners, and Welsh speakers each year. The Pavilion offers translation services and provides information in both languages. On the Maes, there is a Welsh learning center as well.
Wales' National Eisteddfod is an electrifying event with over 250 stands, music and dance performances, literature readings, visual art displays, and more! This festival has allowed many poets, writers, and musicians to compete on a national stage for the first time. This incredible gathering uplifts Wales's language, culture, and local economy and brings together people from all ages and backgrounds.
