James Wimmer experienced the serenity and joy that was Bluegrass music - in particular, Gospel. Gifted with a creative spirit, his songs were often derived from daily life or religious sermons he'd encountered, beautiful compositions of faith and beauty. He cherished singing alongside his family for two blissful decades.
The passing of James in May 2014 mourned his family and friends. In remembrance of his life, the closed ones intended to organize a local Bluegrass Festival. His family and friends have since worked diligently towards making this dream come true - honoring his passion for bluegrass music that so many knew him by.
Every year, a spectacular array of bands encompassing traditional, Gospel, and contemporary genres, something James would have adored, is curated. Bristol Bluegrass Spring Fest invites all the festival-goers and bluegrass enthusiasts to be part of this festival, where the merriment knows no bounds!
