EtnoSur is an annual multicultural celebration of music, theater, cinema, art exhibitions, workshops, and conferences held in Alcalá la Real, Jaén, on the third weekend of July. The fun-filled festivities span three days from 10:00 a.m. until sunrise for your entertainment pleasure! Enjoy various activities such as circus performances and crafts displays, and even savor some delicious food specialties to make unique memories that last a lifetime.

Every summer since 1997, Alcalá la Real (Jaén province, Spain) has hosted the EtnoSur Festival of Ethnic Encounters in the South. This free multidisciplinary event showcases music from diverse ethnic and alternative genres that bring together over 40,000 people from all corners of Spain for three days every July! If you're looking for a unique experience with members of different cultures coming together to celebrate music and art, look no further than the EtnoSur Festival!

Pedro Melguizo Jiménez (Jaén, 1957) established the EtnoSur Festival to provide an opening into a global environment where knowledge, respect, and solidarity are integral aspects of its culture. The Alcalá la Real City Council is proud to host this festival annually.

EtnoSur Festival isn't like others; it offers a variety of free activities for audiences from all backgrounds, adults and children alike. Music intermingles with the rest of its unique program: Circus shows, workshops, forum discussions, exhibitions featuring storytellers, and literature classrooms to bring various cultures together. There are also contests on the street, concerts, and musical performances in different parts of town, along with craft stalls selling eats and treats!

EtnoSur Festival has become one of the most renowned festivals for global music in all of Spain.
