For two decades, the Infest family has gathered during the August bank holiday weekend at Bradford University Student Union for an exciting three-day music festival featuring alternative electronic acts from various genres such as EDM, futurepop, and more. Unfortunately, university authorities have chosen to repurpose their venue space and no longer host any live events, ending this beloved annual tradition. Therefore, Infest is back as a multi-venue event! It will be so much more interesting than before!
It was 1998 when the dream of Infest began to come alive. A collaborative effort between three students from the University of Bradford—Gareth 'Gadge' Harvey, Chris' Crusty' Molyneux, and Max' Maxi Slag,' plus Students' Union Entertainments Manager Floyd Peltier. The vision for their festival included hosting local goth bands in West Yorkshire, but it soon expanded into something much larger—it wasn't long before Alien Sex Fiend was on board with their brand of death rock and gothic music! With these fresh ideas and enthusiastic talent fueling them, Infest quickly grew into one of Britain's most exciting festivals. The student organizers were passionate about the Whitby Gothic Weekend and decided to reach out to attendees and vendors at the festival to gauge how successful an Infest Festival could be. To their delight, they discovered that people overwhelmingly supported this concept, leading them to where they are now.
