In 1984, French Quarter Festival was created to re-engage the people of New Orleans with their beloved neighborhood. By utilizing 1,500 passionate community volunteers, this event has grown and flourished over time due to its immense success. The extensive sidewalk repairs in the quarter also helped pave the way for it!
From classic jazz to international cabaret, the French Quarter is alive with music! Over 20 stages feature an array of genres from soulful R&B and invigorating New Orleans funk to gospel, Latin, Zydeco, and classical folk music - a full spectrum of sounds that celebrates local culture.
For years, locals have consistently voted French Quarter Festival as their favorite of all festivals and events open to the public, dubbing it "favorite festival," "favorite food festival," and "favorite event open to the public."
